On April 20th the electro-mobility platform was launched in Brussels. Director General for Mobility and Transport at the European Commission Mr. Hololei stressed in his speech that electrification of transport will be key for decarbonisation and will contribute to Green jobs and Growth in Europe. The platform identified several EU-level actions to address the principal barriers to the shift towards electro-mobility in Europe, among which the need for better Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning and funding to integrate electro-mobility solutions into the urban public transport network: public support and other financing mechanisms such as Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) should be encouraged through the European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI) in conjunction with European Structural and Investment Funds”.
