Paradigm change in the Eurobike Programme: First ever joint programme with national and international umbrella organisations
Eurobike 2024 supplies the platform for the key transformation topics within the bike industry. Concerted action with the German and international umbrella organisations will set the course for the future of the ecosystem. The jointly formulated conference programme reflects these relevant discourses.
Brussels and Frankfurt am Main, 9 April 2024 – While the bike season is still gathering momentum at the start of spring, Eurobike will present the comprehensive and diverse specialist programme for the world’s leading trade fair at Messe Frankfurt from 3 to 7 July 2024. On three days reserved for trade visitors, a schedule of conferences and networking events, presentations and workshops with high-calibre participants will offer a platform for global exchange and transformation within the industry.
A diverse and pioneering programme has been drawn up in close cooperation with the umbrella organisations of the European and German bike industry (CIE – Cycling Industries Europe, CONEBI – Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry, ZIV – Zweirad-Industrie-Verband, Zukunft Fahrrad and VSF – Verbund Service und Fahrrad). Collaboration between
the show and organisations has intensified during the past months in a bid to actively and collectively shape the transformation of the industry. This cross-organisational cooperation is ready to implement the industry vision of breaking up the silos and collaborating to design the future.
Looking towards the future, discussions will feature opportunities for transformation and indicate the course for the necessary changes. And there is a clear goal: to gain more political and social influence at all levels and generate communicative reach for bicycles, e-bikes and light electric vehicles.
All conference formats are positioned within a triad of knowledge transfer, exchange formats and networking while focusing on the six topic tracks of the world’s leading trade show: Innovation, Digitalization, Sustainability, Inspiration, Retail and People. Supplementary tours of the show bridge the gap between theory and practice, while offering comprehensive information and fascinating new contacts for trade visitors.
Knowledge transfer, exchange, networking: the Eurobike specialist conferences
On the day before the show kicks off, Eurobike invites the management level of the bike and ecomobility world to the Leaders’ Night on 2 July. Under the motto “Hello Future. Hello Transformation.”, the newly developed evening format features visionary keynotes and high-level networking to provide the framework for the conference days to come.
The official start for trade visitors is provided by the Industry & Start-Up Day on 3 July. Highlight of the day is the presentation of the Eurobike Awards in a total of eleven categories.
“How do we get more people on bikes?” This simple question concerning the accessibility of cycling brings together all target groups from the bike world and will become the core of the Mobility Convention on the Thursday of Eurobike. The morning sessions take stock with a transparent look at the current challenges, while the afternoon focuses on joint approaches aiming to be both visionary and practical. Completing Thursday’s specialist programme are the Ecomobility Talk on the future technology of light electric vehicles and the Cargo Academy. In the evening, the sector meets for a networking talk on Pink Thursday in the Massif Central bike culture centre in the heart of the metropolis on the River Main.
Rounding off the Business Days on Friday are networking meetings for collaboration between the tourism sector and bicycle industry in the Bike Travel Forum, the Women In Cycling breakfast and a focus on Service & Sales for both the online and offline business. With its event entitled Mobility Goes Digital Commerce, the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW), a newly acquired partner, targets marketing experts in the bike world who are seeking information on further developments in e-commerce with special emphasis on the direct-to-consumer business. To conclude the business days, the traditional Eurobike party is taking place on a number of stages in the exhibition grounds.
